There are a few dwarf varieties that have more color; however they are rare, and in my experience do not perform well. One 'Dwarf Orange' that I had for years would just give me a little bloom here and there; I finally got rid of it. There is also a Dwarf Rainbow that is an even poorer performer. But many growers are working on getting more dwarf varieties on the market since there is clearly a demand for them.
You could talk to Florida Colors nursery; they may be able to help you.

I did get some plumeria cuttings in Hawaii, yes, but you will find mostly large trees there. Picture....

Which Island are you going to?

What a photo!! How tall can the trees grow, I was under the impression that they only grew to 12 ft or so!

That is the biggest one we saw, but there are many, many big trees.

You will love the Big Island, Diana but not many plumeria there....

That picture must be of the hot Lava steam coming up from the water?

Which Island has more Plumeria's?

Where was that picture taken of the really big plumeria up above?

It dwarfs the building it is growing behind Rolling my eyes.

That is indeed the Lava hitting the ocean. We stayed at the Volcano House Hotel for two nights, it is well worth doing that since you can watch the glow from your room window.
Kauai and Maui have the most plumeria, the picture above was taken in Kauai (my favorite island).

Thanks Hetty, I have heard Kauai referred to as the "Garden Island". So far we just have the main flights reserved. I'll have to see if I can swing a side trip to Kauai for a couple of days in the middle.

We do plan on visiting that Kilauea Volcanoes National Park. I have seen some spectacular pictures of the Red Rivers of Lava Flowing down to the sea. One friend told me the lava they were walking on was still hot and it melted into the rubber soles of their shoes. Guess I better take a spare pair of shoes along Rolling my eyes.

Fortunately we have friends who live on both the Kona and Hilo sides of the Island so we will get to kind of live like the locals. I want to go to the farmers markets and taste all the fruits on the list that I just read for the Hilo farmers market. Some of them I have never heard of. Some I've heard of, but never tasted. Should be a fun experience!
