Remember, don't water your Adeniums. Or maybe just a teaspoon or so.

Written from my hospital bed: Great reminder, Melissa. Thanks. A light drizzle is currently falling outside. I am not at home to muck up the adeniums. They'll get that drizzle and then they'll just have to wait. I know they won't suffer.

Take care, all.
Sylvain.

Sylvain, I hope you are okay! And if you aren't, I hope you are much better, very soon.

As far as this being a dangerous time to water .... well... I've lost one small plant, it got all puckered up and then mushy. I'm guessing the dryness in my house from the heater and the wood burning stove is making them dry? I hope so, I've been watering only when a finger knuckle deep near the roots feels dry....?

most will loose there leaves when they go dorm it. if you keep them warm ans enough light then they might not go dorm it BUT they most likely are slowing down. i have my baby's inside 82-85 deg and 12+ hr high grow light they are growing like summer but the ones outside i have to watch so careful they still have leaves and blooming but are not really "growing"where they need much water.

Thumb of 2011-12-28/chefmike92/d3d065you can tell these are growing look at all the bright and dark healthy leaves

Thumb of 2011-12-28/chefmike92/051e06 you can see this has lots of flowers and few leaves this is out side and requires lot less water

if still has leaves moisten soil lightly and let dry almost all the way adjust amount of water to how long takes to dry you want it to dry in 3-5 days

hope makes sense

Sylvain, what happened to you??!!! i thought you were going on a cruise, I hope you still get to go.

My weather goes from too wet to too dry! arrrghhh. Plants in the ground are OK but it's sure difficult to make them happy in pots.

I've got new babies, yes, I'm nuts. Planted them in Libra, instead of a water sign. Libra is supposed to be good for growing "pith" haha, whatever that is!

A "New Yellow" seedling blooming for the first time, a cutie. Spunky shape.

I don't want to burden this thread with my health problems. I am a diabetic. One of my toes got infected and had to be amputated on Christmas day. Surgery went very well. I should be set free tomorrow, or the day after. And yes, I will still be able to go on a cruise. I will probably be traveling with intravenous antibiotics. There are doctors on those ships and I am traveling with a retired nurse. I'll be in good hands. Very little can stand between a cruise and me.

Take care, all.
Sylvain.

I agree - completely. I am so sorry to hear about your toe.

My DH was on a type of IV antibiotic for a while at home - these neat little round things that he and the nurses referred to as "party balls" ... if that's the case, you won't even need the docs! I hope you have a wonderful cruise. Caribbean?

Hi, everyone.

Yes, that is me ( 120 lbs heavier) flying my Hawai'i Dirt Shirt in the gale winds we encountered at the belvedere at Waimea canyon, on Kauai in 1977. The wind was so strong, it was all I could do to hang onto it as the wind tried to rip it out of my fingers. Good times.

My wife told me that if they have to wheel me onto the ship on a stretcher, I would still go. Worst yet, she is Oh So right. What can I say, I am at ease at sea, on a cruise ship. My next cruise is Jan. 17th. It's for 10 days, visiting the Bahamas, St.Thomas, Grenada, Dominica, Bonaire and Aruba. It should be nice.

This morning's good news: the infection did not reach the bone. That's a big weight off my shoulders.

Take care, all.
Sylvain.

Fantastic - I can imagine that would really worry you. Osteo is nothing fun.

Well, so glad you get to go to sunnier places than here - and all that food, lol!
