The seed was sent to me by a friend in Nottingham, England, who purchased it. The package said mixed varieties.

I surface sowed it in a Cactus mix.

Can you buy seeds from International vendors? I saw T & M in England has a catalog.

Mine were from ebay for $0.99 ! It said it was a mix but all of the seeds looked the same! We'll have to wait and see! Smiling

Trying not to buy any more NOIDs ... the price is right but am not confident about buying on ebay. Call me a relic of the olden days. Hilarious! Now if Amazon has them, I am there>>>>>>>>think I will go look >>>>

just check feedback on ebay before you buy. Actually read through some of it. If they are consistently getting positive feedback on plant sales, you are pretty safe. If they have 98% feedback or lower, I'd avoid them though.......personally.

I don't know about e-bay. When I check out the Rhipsalis that are sold there, I see many misnamed or incorrectly described plants. It makes me question what else is offered.

And see will not come true to the donor plant. Only offsets will be exactly like the parent.
But planting seeds is very exciting to watch grow into lovely semps. You just never know what might come out of the mix.

Here is one of my trays of seedlings I've been plucking out of my raised beds. The rain really made them take off growing.

My seedlings are still teeny tiny, I don't see any true leaves yet on anyone. Yours are looking awesome Lynn!

You can buy seeds from T&M. I bought some this spring and recently threw them out when cleaning up since I decided that if I grow any from seed, I want to be more choosy about the seeds and grow them from known crosses. I'm really trying hard to resist the urge to hybridize.

Give in to that urge Tabby. With your creativity and tenacity, I can only imagine what you would come up with.

I think my seedlings are growing this fast is because of our cool, wet weather. They seem to take a jump in growth every time it rains.

[...valleylynn, yours are looking really great, they're really cute Smiling and Keyi, yours look bigger today, not long to wait, and you'll have some true leaves! Smiling Is hybridising them difficult? Would this need to be done when they are in flower?]

Pia, here is a link where you can find some answers to your above questions. The man giving the information is a well know plant hybridizer. The thread "Kevin Vaughn (Vignettes)" in Sempervivum forum
