Well, this is fun.....I've used quite a lot of Carex for border edging and now Schizostylis has popped up in several more clumps....two-fers...love surprises !

Yes, I'm always surprised when something I would not have chosen to plant pleases me...lol..I was like that in Fallbrook with yellow...a friend gave me a yellow rose, Golden Wings, maybe...okay, so I had to plant it and then knew that I needed yellow...I am not ordinarily interested in big splashes of color....

This guy...wow...I don't know which echium he is...probably came up with me as a seed or seedling and all I can think is that he may be Echium 'Mr. Happy' because I did have one of those in Fallbrook and he gets pink flowers, never had another echium with pink. He was under a table covered with Visqueen the first Winter we were here and when I pulled him out, he was all bent over and already flowering...He's been in that same tub ever since and i'm just going to leave him alone...he's huge....

Likewise, with the Elegia capensis and Pineapple Sage in tubs on the Eastern side of house, must be a good spot for them as the Elegia has reached the eaves and the Pineapple Sage almost so...and it flowers through the Winter here for the hummers...

Thank you very much, Dick...but no...lol..I have no space for it, literally.....I do have one from bex that froze this last Winter and has shot back up, I put it back in a tub and it will be somewhat protected this coming Winter...same with a Bolivian fuchsia. Her place in P.R. does not seem to get as cold as mine here...same also with a Brug sanguineum.

I'm trying to find room to get most, if not all, into the ground and was thrilled that Jer and I could negotiate my getting another 4' added to the length of one bed...lol...he needs room for maneuvering the flatbed in and out and I keep encroaching with my plants...found anther spot where I can squeeze in some more asclepias...

I had not noticed that huge seed pod ! I'm envious...I can see that someday, in the future, probably after I'm dead....my yard will evolve and there will be more spots where brugs can fit in. I was happy to find a couple of spots to plant two Embothriums...and I have two Cornus dug from friend Barb's property out in Fort Dick...they've been moved into larger pots over the last couple of years and now I really need to get them in the ground...and the only place I can do that is where they are not going to look right with the placement of one of those Embothriums...I finally decided to go for it on the basis that when they are large and don't look right, I will be dead....lol...

The only thing that I have blooming right now, to scent the yard is my Polyantha Jasmine...lovely...

Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen' has been blooming on and off this year and this is the first time it has made its blooming towards Fall season. Usually it is just around early to mid summer.

I have two Oncidiums currently making buds, but I think it will be part of my October bloomers.

Phal Baldan's Kaleidoscope, this one is still holding its blooms, been in bloom since April this year. One of the reasons I like Phalaenopsis orchids, such very long blooming period Lovey dubby

Oh I am using that grid stand as my trellis for the Hoya vines, being box shaped it is easier to make it stand. My other trellises for my other vining plants is such a struggle to keep upright when the strong winds comes about.

It also doubles as plant stand from some of my summer dormant succulents, and other plants that needs more shade during summer.
