Dont call it bragging.Shareing is less self centered. Think of the importance of images for the lurkers looking for ideas. I wonder how many unknown gardeners look and dont post.

I have never ordered from RD before. Blinking

What do you do with the cuttings they send? How do you grow them until they can go into a container/ground? Can they be outside on a covered porch that gets morning sun? How large of a pot do you need to put them into?

Any and all info appreciated! Thumbs up

Thanks!

They send plants. The temps need to be 50 or more to be outside or they drop all there leaves and die. Coleus have different sun tolerance. When you order RD will state the tolerance of the named coleous in the descrpion.. Hope this helps

Thanks Spring!

What if the temps aren't 50 for a day or two or even a week, what do y'all do then?

I plant 3 of any plant in a 18 inch container. springcolor is right. The plants come in a flatrate box and are in paper tubes. They need to be removed and the plastic bags around the plugs need to be removed also. Dont take the plug off. I just put the whole plant in the planter.Give them plenty of water. These are tropical plants and love warm night temps.
Springcolor is right.Cold temps will cause the leaves to fall off and the plant will die.

I plan my order to arrive the end of May. We have freezes until mid May so I plant directly in containers when the plants come.

Ohh yes I agree. They would be fine inside if potted.
Then there are the cuttings this fall. Mine are really big and want to be outside but I just noticed its snowing..No going outside until very late May.

I learned my lesson 4 years ago.I couldnt wait to get the planters planted. We had teaser weather for a first week in May.I thought we were surely going to be cold free.
I planted and spent 2 weeks covering things at night when temps dipped to 40.
Covering doesnt help.
They didnt do well because it was so cold t night and struggled all summer.
