I finally put some plants in my new front bed! DH is going to help me with the border this week and I'm hoping I'll have everything else planted soon. Woo hoo on the rain! We got around 1.5 here. Hoping to get a bit more in the next few hours. Hurray! Thumbs up

Someone tried to break in to our lake house. Kicked the slider screen in and tried to take the glass slider off. Got it off track, but the lock held. Creeps.

Thanks Marylyn. Nothing worth taking, really. Would have just made a mess and scared us.
We had a heck of a storm up there last night with lightning nearly all night. Looks like another line of storms is heading toward lake area tonight.
Our rain tank here is full! I won't know what to do with myself tomorrow, not having to water all morning!

That is creepy and scary.
We had lightning on Saturday but no rain. There was thunder that seemed to last 20 seconds! Glad you had so much rain. I bet you are rethinking those tropicals!

We have someone coming to replace the grass we lost last summer. It's too wet to dig now. And of course, the rain washed over the Great Wall of Neighbors and flooded the yard again. But I'll take all the rain we can get.

Hope you get some rain, porkpal. We'll keep our fingers crossed. let us know when you get rain!
I used a pump sprayer and fertilized this morning. Can't believe how a little rain makes everything perk up.

Good grief! There's this big storm system in our half of the state and it seems to be splitting and passing both north and south of us.

The rainstorm last night was incredible! We had 50-60mph gusts when the storms came through. We're thinking we got over 2" of rain from that storm and probably another .5 today. We're sitting around 4"+ here, which makes me a happy gal. Smiling Thumbs up Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Hurray!

No, not sure when it happened. Hadn't been back since Easter when we all got bronchitis. We sure don't have anything worth taking. Maybe someone who came up by boat and figured it would be easy in and out. Don't know.

The storm night before last knocked out the cable for some of our neighbors. Last night's wind blew over quite a few large pots in our yard. Tree limbs all over the backyard.

Well, I'm glad they didn't try while you were there - and that they didn't get in! Blinking

Are we still on for this weekend? The manfreda and the stapelia are all potted up for you! Heck, you want any rain lilies? They've coming up like crazy after this weekend.

Here they're saying it's ENSO neutral now...I can live with that. Tomorrow...I guess more rain is coming.

BTW, anybody seeing these katydids...really tons of them? I'd take a pic of them, but my camera doesn't work.

I've been hearing them already. I dug up a pupal one yesterday and tossed it into the driveway for the birds. Yuck!

If you're hearing them, they must have been around longer than here. I've mostly been seeing the immature nymph, until lately, now there's some adults. I guess that means the katydid noise will start soon. And the regular green katydid nymphs should be here soon, if they aren't already. But the Red Katydids are just everywhere I look, all over the plants, a few dead ones on the ground...big outbreak! I guess I live in an area that katydids like. And the more vegetation, the more katydids.

They're mostly in the green belt behind our house. It's wooded with a creek running through the middle of it, so obviously a mess.
