In the plant-specific databases (example: The Daylilies Database ) you can now search for a cultivar by typing into the search field.

It also has an auto-complete feature so when you start typing the name of a cultivar, it will give you a list of matching cultivars that you can click on.

I just came back from playing with it in the sempervivum. I am speechless. Well, almost.

OK, I don't know if this is a browser thing but when I do a search and then click on the one I want, it never enters that cultivar name into the box.

It is supposed to send you directly to that plant's entry when you click on it. Is that not happening?

Yes indeed. This is still somewhat in beta form and I have ambitious plans to expand this concept way out to include most other plant types.
