Hummie photos 26March2012

These hummies are basking under the morning sun:
Perched on our spider plant baskets as it does its daily grooming:



While this one is doing his morning exercises perched on the trellis support of the lavender plant or is it trying to catch the attention of another hummie:





After awhile, caught the little one in a loving sweet scene So it must be a courtship play of sorts after all!

Sweet.

Just have to add these other photos, taken today 26March after lunch:

Going about in the yard, trying to remove all the ugly hanging catkins here and there..and lucky enough the hummies stayed long enough till I get the camera:

This hummie again staying under the shade of the lavender plant, seems like its feathers are all fluffed up:



Then came another hummie, now am not sure if the other hummie was trying to feed the first one or just playing around:


On the other favorite hangout, there is this hummie quietly perched again on the spider plant basket:


Then this other hummie came...hmmm feeding time? or playing around?



And surprise, right after this one, the other hummie flew to the other hummie by the lavender plant...



So either it is a mommy hummie feeding the youngsters or one fickle hummie playing around

So much fun trying to make a storyline out of these hummies

For today, seems the hummies are in a perching mode...this one quietly perches by the empty spot in the succulent plant stand..



for a closer look:


and eventually has to take a sleep moment:


And as I have seen yesterday, their other new favorite spot is under the lavender plant..for today they continue on their feeding/play like frolic:

I really like catching them being sweet and not aggressively chasing the other away

They are so small, you must have a really good camera, I can not get close enough for a picture, no zoom.

Allison and Susan It is just a point and shoot cam...the hummies in the last 3 photos are not so flighty..quite good subjects for a change And they are perched on my lowest plant stand too, so much easier to focus a bit.

Succulent plant stand is a favorite this time around for their perch, seems to be doing a much needed neck exercise or just trying to be vigilant around its area:



A late afternoon rain caught these ones in our grid stand:



For today 29 March, found this little one riding on top of our garden decor, enjoying a gentle spin:





In this photo, the little one is safely hidden in between the Schefflera leaves...seems like find the hummie puzzle game :
