Opinion: A Few Good Trees

By Sharon
January 10, 2012

It's a good time to take a look at the bare bones of trees now that winter is upon most of us. That's about all we can see anyway since they aren't dressed in their leafy finery at the moment. Look out your window. How many trees can you see?

Last night my head touched the pillow and these words fell through the dark and landed in my mind:

come swing
with me
catch a cloud with a toe
my nose
needs the scent
of a cloud
come swing
with me

Senseless, trivial and totally useless but there they are, and then I slept.

Sharon you make me smile, and put a warm feeling in my heart. Group hug

It's because it's cold and we'd much prefer to be swinging on a nice warm spring day!!
Touching leaves with our toes would be more likely. Smiling

I just remembered as a child trying to reach the clouds with my toes when I would swing. The sky blue as can be, with puffy white clouds floating around. Warm and comforting.

Truth is I usually spray a whiff of Trish's lavender on my pillow each evening and last night I'd double dosed the pillow and was thinking of fields of lavender - which I can't seem to grow here, even if I had a field - so the swing thing just popped up.

Shoulda been:

Come swing with me
high above fields
of lavender and clover
catch the scent
catch a bee
with a toe
oops
Big Grin

It is cold over here to. Rain and sleet. We get sleet instead of snow, well it does snow once in twelve years. It snows a little higher up. Neither sleet nor snow bother me its these gale force winds coming from the North which tend to get into every crack and crevices it can find. Under the door, from the sides, any where it can get a chance and then down my collar. Glare
Regards,
Arif.
