My Third Witch is protected from late afternoon sun by shade from some large trees, so I don't have experience with it in all-day full sun. Even there, its dark color is not as saturated as some other daylilies with similar color themes. But 2017 was its first blooming season in my garden (planted September 2016). Hopefully, other Third Witch growers will chime in.
It would be interesting to have a thread focused on dark, saturated-color daylilies that hold their color in full sun.
It would also be interesting to learn whether there are amendments that help to maximize saturation and sunfastness.
