In its first season in my garden, Third Witch bloomed from June 26 through August 14. It is lovely, especially planted near yellow-green daylilies that complement its green throat.

I'm thinking of putting this (and the other Witches) in a place in full sun. Does this hold up to sun, heat and humidity?

My Third Witch is protected from late afternoon sun by shade from some large trees, so I don't have experience with it in all-day full sun. Even there, its dark color is not as saturated as some other daylilies with similar color themes. But 2017 was its first blooming season in my garden (planted September 2016). Hopefully, other Third Witch growers will chime in.

It would be interesting to have a thread focused on dark, saturated-color daylilies that hold their color in full sun.

It would also be interesting to learn whether there are amendments that help to maximize saturation and sunfastness.

As to heat and humidity, 2017 was not extremely hot or humid, so I can't comment. Plus its protected setting might moderate the effects of heat and humidity.

Thanks Carol! I'm not going to get this one then. You saved me from a disappointment.
