Next time we go to Bill Waldrop's when the daylilies are blooming, I will ask him to show us on his microscope. Just for the heck of it I would like to check our tet. conversions to see if they are all still converted.
Even a relatively inexpensive microscope may allow you to compare pollen. I purchased a microscope for somewhere in the area of $75-$100,I think, and I was trying to deduce if one of my NOIDS was a dip or TET. I put a few grains of a known dip on one part of the slide, a few grains of a known TET on the other, and the NOID pollen in the middle. It's a little tricky, but by comparing, I figured out the NoID was a dip!... With what was essentially a kid's microscope!
