I have to admit they are beautiful plants.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

Lynn, are we talking about the above plant? Yes, it is a potent poison and skin irritant but there is a good side to it also.
Euphorbium amygdaloides-Wood Spurge (in pain in antrum, illusion of smell).
Euphorbium corollate-Large Flowering Spurge (a diaphoretic expectorant and cathartic of the old school in gastro-enteric disturbance, with deathly nausea. Vomiting of food, water, and mucus, and copious evacuations. Attacks recur after short intermissions. Feeling of clawing in stomach; cold sweat.
Euphorbium marginata-Snow on the mountain-(Honey from the flowers is poisonous, detected by the hot, acrid taste. The milky juice produces skin symptoms like Rhus).
Euphorbium pilulifera-Pillbearing Spurge-(Humid asthma, cardiac dyspnoea, hay-fever, and bronchitis. Urethritis, with intense pain on urinating, and much urging. Acrid leucorrhoea; worse least movement. Hemorrhages from sunstroke and traumatism).

I make use of both the med's but this does not mean that it should be used without consulting. Thumbs up If these plants cause the above symptoms they also remove them.

Masud.

Another one of the poisons Lynn. They are all drugs or poisons, depends from which angle you are looking at them. Quite a few herbs are now on the endangered list but you never know what wonder drug future scientists will find in them, that is if we leave them alone and respect their rights to survive also.
Calendula poultice on a wound or injury, it does have a magical effect. Local/common name for it is Gul e Shafi. Gul=rose. Shafi=health. Try hot Mint tea for Asthma or for tummy complaints. Blatta Orientalis or Blatta Americana, wont tell you all what the common name for that is but it is a wonder drug for asthma. Rolling on the floor laughing

Masud.

I often read that none of the plants purported to discourage gophers did so - they might not eat those particular plants but that didn't stop them from going around to get at the other plants. It's just a matter of time.

It has worked for me for 4 years now. The gophers make a big detour around the area where the bulbs are inter-planted with the euphorbia. I couldn't grow lilies and such until I finally planted the euphorbia. I am using E. 'Rudolph' and the wild euphorbia so far. I do have some other varieties, but haven't planted them around the bulb areas yet.
