Or should we just ask for/offer specific seeds here? Or not? Green Grin!

The need for phytosanitary certificates restricts us from trading across the border.
I participate in local swaps and the NARGS swap. The NARGS people take care of the phytosanitary certificates for their swaps.
I think some other gardening and horticultural groups do something similar.

That said---I would encourage you to get people swapping seeds.
This is the only way that some of the old heirloom varieties will continue to exist.

I don't think anyone has a swap organized, but there's no reason why you couldn't. And you can feel free to post here for specific haves/wants. And of course, there's always the Trading Forum.

Just thought I'd check to see if anything is in the works. I've posted a couple of places and did check the trading forum, but so far have only heard the sound of crickets chirping there. Green Grin!

I agree. Seed and plant trading through the mail is a cornerstone of my own gardening. There is a lot of trading going on between the members here, it just often occurs in private conversation. I have plans to create tools to help us connect with each other in a more easy manner!

That will be most welcome. I've traded some things here on ATP, but it would be good to be able to connect more easily in the right places.

I was thinking more along the lines of a seed robin/round robin ... so I will revisit this later. I tip my hat to you.

I listed a bunch of Asian Brassicas and herbs that I have available to swap or for postage. The "Asian Seed Swap" link in my sig block will jump there (a thread in Cubits).

For one-to-one trades, I also listed my two "Have" lists in my sig block, but they are somewhat messy at the moment.

I've started threads a few times in the ATP Group Buy / Classified forum, and the Trading forum, about a coop seed buy, or splitting large packets, but I agree: chirping crickets don't trade many seeds.

If anyone wants to send me a sase, I would be willing to send some of the following seeds:

Moonflower Vine
Royal Poinciana Tree
Powder Puff Tree
Japanese Morningglory
Red Cardinal Flower Vine
White Texas Star Hibiscus
Double Purple Devil's Trumpet

Most of these I have gotten about 90% germination on the seeds in the past.

I have limited quantities of some of the seeds, so just send me Tree Mail and I will let you know how much of what I have available. Smiling
