Ruby slippers for the Orchid Olympics. As I remember Dorothy had no trouble gallivanting around on the yellow brick road in those slippers, gathering flowers. Just stay away from the poppies, Jim. Orchids only.
I had picked up this Dialaelia Mizoguchi 'Princess Kiko' in spike at the Silva Open house in January. This one came from James Rose/Cal-Orchids who is always a guest vendor there.
2 spikes and I didn't blast them.
A first bloom on Laelia Santa Barbara Sunset 'Showtime' HCC/AOS. I had picked up a tiny plant from Cal-Orchids some years ago and it is now finally ready to bloom.
And another one bought in bud at Silva's Open House this year - Dendrochilum bicallosum. Unfortunately this one has a very unpleasant odor.
An old repeat bloomer - Ascofinetia Lionstar
And the Asctm "not miniatum". Bought last March at the SEPOS as definitely miniatum ( the lip is curved upwards = not miniatum)- but most likely, perhaps ampullaceum var aurantiacum. It is a nice plant though and I love the blooms. The roots are almost 3 feet long.
I love them all. Stinky or not, the Dendrochilum is a winner. This is coming from someone who just bought two Bulbos. I also very much like the Laelia Santa Barbara Sunset 'Showtime' HCC/AOS. Great color.
One of the NOID Catts from Apopka has opened up a bit more. For $5, what the heck.
Bulbophyllum madibulare is looking better as well.
Here is an update on Scl. Mem. Doug Lace 'Rosminah'.
And another look at Potinara Elaine Taylor 'Krull Smith' FCC/AOS from my recent Apopka trip.

Thanks!
Jim, beautiful show! I don't think my 'Rosminah' is going to bloom so soon, if at all this year. It is now again in the growth stage.
About the Bulbo, which I really like very much. Could that be Bulbo mandibulare?
The Potinara is gorgeous.
I was waiting for my Ascocentrum christensonianum to open a bit more -
And there is Oerstedella centradenia
Cattleya walkeriana v. alba is blooming ( on this plant) from new leads without pseudobulb or leafy growth. Strange! The bloom is very thick and has trouble totally straightening out. The scent is heavenly.
My Enc. polybulbon is growing very well and will have the (horizontally placed) slab fully covered probably soon. It is starting to bloom, but not very well, it probably needs more straight sun.
Here is the plant in Febr 2010, as I had pinned it down on Epiweb and showing a season's growth.
