I received my Modern Daylily Catalog the other day and as I was going through it and admiring all the wonderful pictures, I was very surprised to see some of my crosses. Becki Pavlik, who bought seeds from me many years ago, appears to have registered several. Lady Shannon is a cross of my own registered plant, Uforistic Galaxy. Much to my surprise it is white, and the parents are both purple. She has several other registered plants involving crosses of Lake Norman Spider x Sexy Sally. I am not positive those are mine but I did make a lot of crosses with Sexy Sally and that particular cross was one. It's always nice to see what has become of the seeds that you have sold to others.

Cynthia, I have read that sometimes two of the same color will cancel that color out and you can get a white (I believe they were talking about purples in particular).

I think that I also read that myself. Nice to know if you are hybridizing for whites.

Fred got Lillian's Thin Ice (a near white) out of 2 lavenders.

I certainly would absolutely love getting a nice white ufo. I will have to plant some of my purple crosses and see what I get. I have been using So Lovely and Gentle Blessings which are both near whites in some of my hybridizing and will be planting seeds from several of those crosses. I have also gotten a good near white from two pinks. This one is a seedling from Best of Friends x Surprisingly Pink. I call it by the garden name of Lighthouse Divine.

I just talked to Becki Pavlik via email, and she did confirm that the other cross of Lake Norman Spider x Sexy Sally were my seeds also. I had thought so but I wanted to make sure.
