I really really want Last Snowflake by Stamile. I don't know how it will do up here, since it is a VLA and EV. Plus, I already have an order placed with Floyd Cove, so it would be easy to add it. But I am not sure I can justify the cost. This is one I will probably have to set aside, at least for several years. I do plan on asking them about it, but sadly, probably won't add it this year.

I would love one of the green daylilies such as Green Arrow or similar.

I also would like Purple Cheetah, which keeps coming up on the LA - but again, I think it will be one to wait on - perhaps the price will drop by the end of summer (or perhaps I will have more money!!)

And of course, because of the enablers here, I have added Please Say YEs, and Oklahoma Sand Burr to my lists. The problem is, with all of the pictures being posted here, my lists are becoming longer, and longer, and longer!! ~Jan

I really would like Rainbow Maker by Gossard but a bit pricey right now. I also have wanted Larry's Obsession for quite some time but bidding is still fierce on that one. Would like some of Michael's ufo's and spiders and more of Reed/Murphy spiders.

Cynthia, if she still has some, Kelly Mitchell (Rainbow Acres) has LARRY'S OBSESSION for $25 DF. She sold it for that last year as well. Here's the link http://www.rainbowacres.net/

I've been purchasing like mad and have been able to find just about everything I presently want, but the two I would still love to get are CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT and PINK ALOHA. I keep checking the Lily Auction to see if anyone has them, or even seeds from crosses using either of them, but since I just started looking a couple of weeks ago there hasn't been anything yet. I believe CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT is a 2011 intro from Thoroughbred and is very expensive, and PINK ALOHA seems very rare. So the hunt continues!

Larry's Obsession seems to be used extensively in crosses. Must have some great qualities--besides being gorgeous to look at!

My income is changing drastically, so daylily purchases are off the agenda for this year. But I still have dozens in pots bought new last year for which I didn't have planting areas prepared. Will be working on that, and starting a 'wish' list for later. Hope enablers, um, friends keep those photos coming! Big Grin Thumbs up

I have read that Larry's Obsession grows very well in the north, so I thought I would give it a try. Also, my hubby's name is Larry. Now I guess I need to get one for my name, maybe Cindy's Tie Dye might do.

Pink Aloha didn't increase for me so it may be a slow increaser and that's why it's hard to find (?). I started with a DF and that's what I ended up with at the end of the season. I did divide it and give a SF as a bonus. The other one is in my hybridizing area and is stil just a SF. Add it to your want list on the auction because it does show up occassionally. Breeze has listed some and the hybridizer lists it as well (Boxcar). It is listed on their website http://www.picturetrail.com/sf...

Betty, you can "tag" those two you want on the LA, and when they come up on auction, you will automatically be emailed. It works for both seeds and plants.

I have some Larry's Obsession seedlings planted right now, I bought the seeds from the LA a year ago, but the hybridizer was in Wisconsin, so I am guessing it will grow up here .

I have purchased seeds of plants I want, because the parents were over my price range. I currently have some Gossard seedlings for that reason. Perhaps they will bloom this year.... ~Jan

On my want list is HIP HOP MUSIC and WHALE TAILS both by Dan Hansen. HHM is a toothy eyed one. Everyone must have sold them both like crazy last year because anyone that has them, including Hansen, will be out until 2013. I did find a WHALE TAILS, but he didn't know what to charge. He was trying to be comparable with what others were charging; he couldn't find it anywhere either so he said he may list it on the auction and let the market decide the price. It wouldn't have been available until late summer which is too late for me to use this year so I will just wait until everyone has them again in 2013 and can probably find a reasonable price.

Jan, I have had Last Snowflake since the year it was introduced. I LOVE it. On another forum someone in Nova Scotia had wanted it for a long time. He finally got it and it did ok for him. He was though, disappointed in the fact that it did not have the wide edge for him. Probably the summer was not hot enough. For a long time it was my favorite in the garden. It is still a favorite because it is so hard to simply pick a single favorite. It is hard to beat, but if you want to make seeds, I have had no luck with that side of it. Look for it on the auction, it will be cheaper there. I sold some off mine a couple of years ago, I am letting it clump up again, so I don't want to sell any off mine for now. It is a moderate increaser.
I have taken more pictures of Last Snowflake than any other daylily in my garden. Here are some below. It is in a prominent place in my backyard, on top of an old tree stump.

As to answer the question as to what I want this year. I have a large order coming from Floyd Cove, 10 in fact, three coming from Dan Trimmer and three from Nicole Harry Devito. I am going to be buying lots more pots this year, since all mine are grown in pots. I get pots usually now about the 20 gallon size, and plant more than one in them. My soil is hard clay here.

Does LAST SNOWFLAKE really have that green an edge? If so, that's fantastic! Or is it more yellow and just looks greenish in a photo? It's a gorgeous flower in any case!

Showing my ignorance here, but how do I go about tagging or establishing a "want list" on the Lily Auction? After someone mentioned this once before I looked but couldn't see anything like that. I will certainly put both of them on a list if I can figure out how to do it.

Many thanks in advance!

Thanks Dot! - LS hasn't been listed on the LA for a month now, although it doesn't mean it won't be listed again. I actually want it because it is late blooming and it's high bud count. I prefer darker bolder colors - reds, oranges, purples and bright yellows - but I will take a late bloomer in anything! ~Jan

Ann I am just sick. I got crosses of both Supernatural and Whale Tails on the LA and when they were shipped my Husband did not see them in the Mailbox on Sat. and they sat Until Monday and it got to -19 that weekend. I have been soaking in Peroxide solution for 3 weeks now and nothing,. I think they froze too hard.
