Me too. All the other seed crosses I have started are doing great this year. I have lost only 2 out of about 100 so I am happy with that.

Stephanie, are they soaking in the solution in the fridge or at room temp? If in the fridge, try putting them out at room temp. Heat helps them germinate faster. That's why some people use heating mats under their seed trays, plastic boxes, cups, or whatever they plant their seeds in to help with germination.

I think I have everything I want to use this year plus a few I will just put in the new display area. I still have a couple dips coming from Shooter to use in my white program, "Lavender Lullaby" and "Loopy Loo" both have great branching and decent budcount and there not evergreens. I want to keep some dormancy in my plants so they do well up north.

Steph, that would be sad if they didn't germinate. Just say a prayer and maybe something will come up lol. Would love to have Whale Tales.

I have been soaking them on the kitchen counter where it is pretty warm. Seems to be the warmest room in the house. Will just have to wait and see. Have a bunch more this AM I see germinated overnight so better go get them taken care of.

Betty,

Last Snowflake looks green in the early morning, fading to yellow as the day progresses. It does look greener in cooler weather rather than very hot. But it does bloom late so it is really hot here by the time it blooms. But it is as green as anything else I have seen here. Lots say they are green but aren't really that green.

Thank you, Dot! And would you believe that I just emailed Karen at Floyd Cove a few minutes ago, before I read this, to see if it was still available to add to my order? I really like the idea of a very late bloomer, and since it's such a light color I won't worry about it fading in our heat. I'll just have to get out there very early in the morning to enjoy the greenish tinge, I guess.

I read in Pat Stamile's description that he hasn't tried it as a pod parent because nothing else is in bloom at the time it blooms, but he has had success with the pollen -- freezes it for the next spring, I guess.

Pictures of both WILD HORSES and HOLD YOUR HORSS are in the database if you're interested in seeing them. I got HOLD YOUR HORSES last year and it's still pretty small, but the flowers are wonderful.

Not for me last year, but I didn't fertilize at all so that probably affected things...

The color doesn't just differ from plant to plant. I looked at my pics of Wild Horses and the color varies in my own photos. I think the lighting/time of day makes a big difference. I don't remember it looking as yellow as it does in some photos. Probably not quite as white as it looks in others.

I don't order anything for spring. I just can't believe it. It is so unusual for me not to have a specific wish list but somehow I just didn't find any must haves over the winter to get in the spring. I had thought to get something in a 2012 intro for spring but I never saw any that I decided to get right now. For now my few empty spots will stay empty and hopefully I can find something in the fall. More late or very late bloomers would be really nice. Big Grin

I bought Wild Horses on the LA last summer. When I got it I popped it into a pot. When I planted it in a new garden later on, it got transplant shock or something, and didn't do well. I hit it with the Tinkers daylily booster recipe (and it has molasses in it) and it seemed to do better. Right now it is hopefully doing well under lots of leaves & I am crossing my fingers that it blooms this year, but wouldn't be surprised if it didn't because of the setback.

I did win Yabba Dabba Do on the LA yesterday - it is a MLa. Still thinking about Last Snowflake. I will keep watching the LA for it, then make a decision before May whether to add it to my order from Floyd Cove.~Jan

Shannon,

I grow wild horses, it is really nice. It has increased well for me, I'm in central MD zone 6. I also grow Egyptian queen by Trimmer. The 2 are so similar that I sold my Wild horses on the LA this winter. I kept Egyptian Queen only because it represents my kitty Cleopatra Smiling I'm trying to keep daylilies for my family and for my kitties 'cause they are my kids. I'll post pics of both so you can see how close they are. Maybe you can find one or the other on the LA.

Now if i hit the powerball I'll be needing Bass Gibson, Larry's obsession, Heavenly Velociraptor, Saber Tooth Tiger, Lillians Vapor Trail, and about a million others Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
It's my cats world, I'm just here to open the cans.

I grow Wild Horses and it's always the color in the photo for me. I had two clumps in two different spots and they both were this color.
