- Uses: will naturilize, suitable for xeriscaping

Please explain me what it means, so I can make better entries.

Seed starter anyone who grows plants from seed.
Sowing seed = planting seed
Decidious = Drops leaves in the fall.
Malodorous = Smells bad
Spring ephemeral = perennial plants that die back to the ground after a short growth and reproduction phase each spring.

Proposing details of a plant means entering the information about that particular plant such as: mature height, spread, sunlight requirements etc......

Jonna, Welcome to All Things Plants! You live in one of my favorite European countries. Hurray! Do you mind sharing which part of Belgium you're from? Welcome! I spent a year in Florennes, down in the southern portion.

Jonna, very nice to "meet" you here! There are a lot of people where I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan that are of Belgian descent. I'm sure your English is far better than the command most of us here have over other languages, so please do not be afraid to keep asking questions. Happy gardening to you! Smiling

I'm happy to add these. The first two will be easy, but I'm not sure what would be a good photo to represent the 3rd and 4th ones.

I was thinking of using the USDA logo for organic.

Looks good to me.

How about something like a stylized N with a leaf coming out of it for the native or wild microbadge?

Oh, man... if y'all add a "native/wild" microbadge, I'll have to go earn some more acorns! Hilarious! Thumbs up

Dave, we're an international site -- is there an international organic logo anywhere?

To all: Thank you for your answers, it's clear to me now.

Fiwit, I live in the eastern part of Belgium, near the German boarder and it's the only part of Belgium in zone 6, the rest of the small country is zone 7 or 8. I'm Dutch, but moved to Belgium 8 years ago.

Valleylynn, there are already some pictures from plants in my garden in the Plant Database. Hope to add more soon.

The picture shows a part of my garden.

Hetty, GOEDEMORGEN, always nice to see how small the world is, especially for us Dutch, who like to travel around the world.

Speaking of that ~~~ on my father's side --- his father came over from Holland & his mother's grandparents came over. Yes, I guess the Dutch love to travel the world. Hilarious!

Wow, that's a beautfiul garden!

Well, since you're Dutch, I won't say Bon Jour! Hilarious! My year in Florennes was one of the best years of my life. I still remember our trip to Keukenhof that April to see the tulips, and that was 1988. Memorable things stick with you, I guess. East Belgium, near the German border... we didn't get over that way much. We spent more time in Luxembourg and France. I remember driving through Aachen one time, and maybe Ghent, but it's been so long I don't even remember my Belgian geography (it was 1988).

I just realized the first non-American I ever knew was a Dutch lady. She was my mom's best friend, and a neighbor of ours when I was growing up. She married a US soldier after the war, and wound up in central Ohio. As I recall, her entire front yard was flowers (she had the steepest hill on our block, and we couldn't sled on it because she planted flowers on it instead).

Jonna- beautiful gardens!! We're thrilled to have you here!

I'm not thrilled to use the USDA organic logo Thumbs down So many of us are organic, but not USDA "approved" (which is all in all a hot topic anyway).

Oh. Well, I didn't assume the USDA letters would be put on there. How about just "organic" in the circle?

And I'm no artist but Sharon is ~~~ for native the N with the last upright line of the N being squiqqly like a stem & then turning into leaves. When one mouses over the badge it tells what it stands for anyway.
