Would it be possible to use the word "wild" with maybe a bit of a grass stalk behind it? We don't have any microbadges with an image of grass yet, and it's pretty much prevalent in some form just about everywhere, right?

I don't think the word wild would fit inside & show up to any degree but I like the grass stalk idea.

I'm looking at the three stars on the DB badge and thinking it just might squeeze in there, and still be legible. (???)

Waving my hand for the natives and wildflowers badge. Great idea, chelle. I was thinking an image of tall grass too with something else to distinguish it from just grasses should the day come when they need that badge for something else.

Really like that "organic" badge.

I was just thinking about places such as The Nature Conservancy areas & others like that where everything is native & they always have those signs posted which say, "Bring nothing but your camera, leave nothing but your footprints". That's why I thought the footprint would denote a "native" feel & if it had a grass stalk in it so much the better. Just IMHO.

I really like the idea of these two items together. Plus, it'd be a really small footprint, kind of like the concept of leaving as small of a (human) "footprint" as possible in native areas.

Would a footprint not promote a negative stereotype about indigenous people?

I thought of that as well or maybe 'carbon footprint', which could also be either negative or a sign of awareness.
In any case, footprints mean different things to different people.

That was my concern at first ... but then I got to thinking more along the lines of what chelle said up the thread. Somehow it would need to be a footprint that didn't bring to mind a stereotype.

Or maybe just a background of tall wild grass with a small wildflower superimposed on it and stay away from the footprint altogether?

That might be better.
