Tiny Bluet, Small Bluet, Least Bluet. I see a photo needs adding to the db.

Lovely rambling walk. You got me with the ID also. I knew I knew it but drew a blank. Found it though.

Old lady HA! Where?

Lovey dubby

Ahhhhh, thank you, Anni! That nearly drove me crazy. I went through every plant I'd ever known and though it looked familiar I just couldn't identify it. Of course I know more about medicinal plants than anything else, so maybe that had something to do with it. The foliage looked so much like chickweed, it was the bloom that threw me.

Thank you!

I tip my hat to you. Sometimes we think too hard on something & can't see the forest for the trees. It happens to everyone. I was thinking you may have known it as Mountain Bluet which may or may not be a separate variety. I have not researched that but it seems I always heard "Mountain Bluet" more than anything else.

I don't know, Anni. If it didn't have medicinal qualities, it wasn't of any use to Aunt Bett, so she didn't teach me a thing about them. I only learned medicinal and edible wildflowers. I vaguely remember this plant, but not much about it; it sure looks a lot like chickweed. And too, plants aren't always the same here as they were in the mountains. Different climate.

I did a quick check & it seems some of the bluets (madder family) were used for bedwetting & the Cherokee used it for a tea. And it was used for a dye. and:
