I have tried (and still use) iron phosphate-based baits, and they seem to dissolve after a day or two of rain or drizzle.

Maybe it was just my brand (Sluggo?)

I could look for quassia next time I'm in a health food store.

I SEE SLUGS IN MY garden now, so I may need to take a trip over there myself. I can't believe they are alive in the Winter. The nights are in the 20's.

All the monsoon rains recently have made my yard like a swamp. And after some nice spring like weather, it's cold again. I need to do a lot in my yard, including treating for slugs, but it's too wet to even walk around. Yuk.
