Garden Scoots Are a Great Help

Invest in a sturdy garden scoot. It saves wear and tear on knees and back, and if the handle locks in place, you have support to help you stand up. A basket or tray keeps tools handy or carries produce back from the garden.

John: I've used 5 gal buckets for garden stools many times. My husband had a shed full of 5 gal empty buckets from sea salt he would buy for his aquarium. At one time I even thought it would be a neat idea to paint a few of them and make some round cushy pillow tops ... and have a couple here and there around the garden. I kinda thought they could be made to resemble garden mushrooms. Green Grin!

Hetty: I like that little garden scoot of yours too ... I really like the idea of having a stationary bucket type stool as John described but having one with wheels would sure come in handy too ... and a drink holder for my iced tea ... Yeah!!!

I like the PRICE of that little scoot Hetty has! But one of the reasons I like mine is that it has a handle. So if the area I'm in has ground that is too uneven to "scoot" on, I can drag it over there by the handle. And the seat swivels....and that seat is really comfy! And it steers, too. Smiling

Mine has a handle too... right in the middle! And it's light! But it doesn't steer...

Oh I have a "John Deere" tractor too. Mine was dark green but has faded out and paint came off the seat so it needs a paint job. Once in a while DH puts air in the tires, could that be from uneven ground! No handle on mine but have a rope to pull it around with if need be. I do believe DH got mine from Harbor Freight several years ago. I notice it is out in front now, DH does manage to borrow it from time to time. Does save on our poor backs and knees.

I have one very similar to that one! I forgot I had it. It's in the garage somewhere. *Blush*

Have to dig it out. Thumbs up

Don't think mine has a drink holder. It was made before this one was made.

those stools that you buy for working on tires and low places on cars have wheels that swivel so you can go in any direction . there's storage on them . I got one for my grandson and son when they had our van in the shop replacing an axle and wheel bearings . They can be bought at any parts store like Auto Zone . Now I want one .

Digger: What a great idea, never thought of one of those! I found this site with shop stools/creepers as well as the garden creeper:
