Thanks Mike - the paniculata is pretty common here. I have a start from a friend of mine. I've actually changed my mind from getting any more bulbs/tubers/plants/etc. I picked up a dozen herbs and veggies this morning, and I'm about a 1/3 of the way done digging a trench in front of the house to put in the other bulbs and tubers I already have. I also have to figure out where I'm going to put the hostas I got the other day.
All this talk about dentures reminds me of a funny story, and I just have to tell you all. Gram was in the 90's when her health got so bad she had to be in a nursing home, and the last year or so she was alive, she shared a room with another gal. Well, Gram's mind got kinda bad, and she was a terror to the people in the nursing home. Not the employees so much, but the other residents! She was forever losing her teeth and would just go into other people's rooms and take their teeth and claim they were hers! She took her room mates, and countless others!
WOW its been real quiet on my threads last few days .......well i have shipped quite a few of your plants i could not ship if you ordered raspberries, blueberry's, or tiger Lilly i dont have those but hoping to get soon all these "dorm it plants are waking up" if you look at the spread sheet the RED out are marked shipped today!!! get ready to plant or decide how to keep you plants (plant in pots or heal them in and protect against freeze and frost.
Mike, on the top of the spreadsheet under my name it says PAID, but on the bottom under balance due it shows I still owe you. I did pay you already via PayPal.
sorry i have to mark in both places i just must have missed it to me i go by the top anyway but thanks for pointing it out this spread sheet Im working it a bit different that down there is mostly some are paying in installments or i have to readjust a order and it showes how mu is still owed DID YOU SEE YOUR ORDER IS ON ITS WAY????
if anyone eles sees a mistake PLEASE LET ME KNOW i do make them as hard as that is to admit
I got my box today, Happy Birthday to me...lol Thanks Mike
As soon as I came home from work I got everything out and standing up right. The Lilies are already putting out, sprouts that is...lol The poor Hibiscus took a beating, but all in all they look great after I put the dirt back in the pots.
Will be getting my bone meal tomorrow , have the manure ,so I can plant the Clems tomorrow.
I was wondering, can I plant the lilies in large pots rather than in the ground. and will they survive that way. I dont want the Voles to eat any more of them.
Also should I leave the box outside, it will be around 47 tonight?
that temp is ok but NOT lower then 42-45 so i would leave outside NEXT to the house the house will keep a little warmer. Keep the hibiscus in the house they dont like below 50 and if there stressed it might not be good for them they are used to my 80-84 deg.
the lily's need a big pot 3 gal if you go smaller then watch for water they can dry very fast but YES they are actually put in 3 gal pots and forced to bloom to cut and sell cut lilies if you got tiger Lilly the can go to a 1-2 gal pot
if anyone has more info please speak up I am telling you what i know and what the grower/greenhouse recommends
hope all things work out. dont put anything in direct sun for 2-3 days genitally move to direct sun. i burnt 50 plants that i had under 2 types of grow lights 24 hrs a day and 2 days in the sun they where crispy but soil was not dry!!! harden them off
I have lots of 3 and 4 gallon pots, that is what I plant my EE's and Canna's in. Question though, I am always confused with all the different types of soil now available. When planting in such large pots, do you use garden soil or potting soil? I prefer the garden soil my self.
I will put the hibiscus in the house next to the one that I over winter each year.
I was more wondering about the Clems. But I will bring them in tonight and put in the garage.
Thanks for answering.
i personally use my own mix of potting soil due to everything i raise in pots need very good drainage. Plumeria and adeniums are very picky on wet soil they rot. i find even potting soil is to heavy and holds to much water so i amend it BUT we are growing 2 totally different things. I say go with what you are used to and know has for you in the past!!! we also live a little way apart LOL
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE I WANT TO SEE PICS OF FLOWERS, VEGGIES AND FRUIT!!!!
Nice to see i have a few pics to post of some to post but guess where i am going?????? The PO a few more to mail and then plumeria time!!!! i think?? have so many things that need work dont know what way to turn!!
