Mortality rate for dengue fever in the Philippines is high. So do be careful Jonna. Good you recover even if it takes time, but still better not to get it or have anything that will further encourage those pesky mosquitoes to thrive.

Hi Jonna, I was wondering whether you ended up with a solution or workable suggestion for your wanting to foliar feed your, was it, pothos, or plants in your pond box?
I used to use a Seaweed plant food that is a 0-0-1 formula (the one percent being soluble potash) that is a "liquid concentrate made from freshly harvested seaweed". It is suggested that when diluted with water it would be "most effectively used as a foliar spray that would be fast acting and make nutrients immed. available to the plant". (This is what the label on bottle says.) In the past I had used this recommended product as a foliar spray to help strengthen the leaves of my outdoor succulents in preparation for the high desert winters. If you are interested I can tree mail you the brand and product name and you can find its availability on the Internet.

Hi Bev,

No, I never did come up with anything for those planter boxes in the pond. The only thing I've done is occasionally put dilute miracle grow in the box with the pump turned off, let it sit overnight and then turned the pump back on. The pond was murky for a bit but cleared up.

I'd like the name of the seaweed fert, I'll see if I can get it here. It's difficult to import fertilizer, can you imagine a seaweed bomb? However, with the name I might find it already here. I did collect seaweed one year and composted it, it smelled horrible. I'd be willing to do it again in a smaller batch and with a better sealed container.

It is pothos and philodendron that I have bare root in the pond filters.

thanks for the reply,

Jonna
