Thanks! I'm just south of Chicago so it was one mild winter (2016-2017), I think, that allowed the seeding. Interestingly, it didn't happen in the ground, but only in the windowbox, which I would have though would have been colder!
We'll see this year. The recent winter was much colder and snowier. In any case, I'm always pinching and rooting so I have plenty for gifts and gardens. I try to keep one or two of every variety inside though hahaha
Eight Kong varieties started from seed today. Can't wait to see how big they get. I have a "Big Blonde" that gets pretty tall, and the "Painted Lady" gets pretty big as well. Will be interesting to compare.
Have you seen any coleus like these? Very thin leaves (and it looks like there are 3-4 plants in a small pot, I'm going to plant them tomorrow and will be able to tell better) and NO TAG! Very small, like 6-8" tall. I got them at a garden center today on a 2/1 sale. The colors are familiar, but not the leaf shape.
