OK - I'm rethinking cooperi....

1 - I loved it because in the pictures it's PURPLE. You said pink.....

2 - invasive????? I'd rather not, but if it's evergreen and PURPLE, not pink - I hate pink - it would be a good groundcover for my tiny front yard in lieu of grass to have to mow.

everybody chime in and tell me what color YOUR cooperi blooms, please - before I invest....

In my area, it's not really green in the winter, but sort of a greenish reddish brownish color and slightly shriveled, not that good looking. I would call the flower color hot magenta pink that's on the purplish side. That bright purplish pink. Very bright. I love the color.

I like a serious purple, which is what the catalogs I've seen show.

I absolutely reject pink. It was forced upon me as a child, and still people make assumptions that because I'm female I "should" love it. It is banned from my premesis because if anyone sees it here, they'll give me more...

I know that's pretty harsh and I am not generally a harsh person. But it's a preventative measure against a pet peeve with pink......

I'll see if I can find a picture that I think is accurate.

It's definitely not Barbie pink. Much more purplish than that.

Y'know now I can't remember which catalog hooked me.
It was shown purple like almost royal purple.
But I did a google image search and it looks dark pink just about everywhere.
Guess I'll start with a SMALL cutting or something and decide from there....

These come in many colors now. I don't think there is a dark purple yet.

These are a purple color, but not a deep purple. Ice Plant (Delosperma cooperi)

I have one called Lavender Ice. It hasn't bloomed yet but the flowers are described as Orchid/Lavender color. You might look at that one too.

Yeah, I ordered 2 of those for a friend who LOVES lavender.
I don't do pastels in general, and I avoid pink like the plague ("but you're a GIRL! ALL GIRLS love pink!')
I like deep oranges and purples, to play with all the green foliage and be brazen about it!

Ordered 4 of those for the same friend to "bracket" the lavender ice on each side of the front path.
THAT one tempted me severely with its psychedelicness!
But there IS pink in it, so I'll enjoy it at her house.

Don't think I've seen that orange one...

Gee, that patch of purple was much larger before I posted it......
