What plants do you grow with your JI, sibs and other beardless. I've inter-planted some Asiatic Lilies with my JI. Hope that wasn't a mistake.

In the Jan. 2012 AIA bulletin pg. 41, Jody Nolan notes growing sibs with spurias. Since the sibs. like water all summer is the trick not letting the spurias go summer dormant? I'll have to put spurias back on my want lists if so. Will spurias flourish in slightly acidic soil? She also mentions daylilies and coneflowers in the same beds.

All of my beardless get the same amount of water as they are all planted in the beardless and seedling bed along with the above plants I names

Ditto here, all mine get the same amount of water. The spurias still do sometimes go dormant, sometimes not. I think it depends on the cultivars parentage. Dee would know that better.

As far as acidic soil, mine is slightly acidic. I water my JIs and some of the other beardless with Miracid, but I usually just skip the spurias.

I've been drooling over spuria pics since your posts last year Dee. I can probably add some lime now and then if need be. Do that already with the lavender and a few others. I'm excited. Galanthus are blooming, reticulata are popping up. Spring is good. I've been growing columbine in part shade. Maybe that's why they haven't increased so much.

Some spuria will go totally dormant while others do not here for me as well Polly. Right now they are up mostly abut 10"

Is that certain spuria varieties or random plants Dee? Can you recommend a few of yours to plant with sibs? Also the Snowpeak link in your posts isn't active.
