Has anyone ever tried this? Came across it on another site today, supposedly dusting your plants with dried milk powder will keep deer away because they don't like the smell or taste of it once they have been weaned.

I was reading something similar to this in one of my back issues of Garden Gate Magazine one night this week, but I quickly read it and I took that it was using powdered baby formula..and thinking to myself..that's more expensive than buying Liquid Fence but my reading comprehension isn't the greatest..I'll find the article again and report back here. I think the article said you didn't have to respray it after a rain, where most other products you do. Maybe the article meant regular powdered milk..

I don't know, haven't bought baby formula in 30 years, but isn't it pretty expensive?

Blood meal is supposed to deter deer too, but I've not noticed it helping in my yard.

I just saw an ad for a deer repellent in a garden magazine named "Bobbex". "Proven most effective deer repellent available". Will not wash off or stain plants, according to the ad.

Has anyone used this product?

since I posted my original question I've been thinking, even it it does repel deer, wouldn't it be likely to attract other unwanted visitors (skunks come to mind) ??

A lot of people at the garden center are requesting Milorganite lawn fertilizer saying it deters deer.
