I had wanted to get Agapanthus - Headbourne but it appears it would not be a perennial here in my zone. So, I'm looking for something similar in height, bloom form, etc.
Any suggestions?

Some sellers are listing Agapanthus 'Headbourne' as hardy for your zone. I don't know. I left mine behind in CA but I'm tempted to try. Shrug!

Are you wanting something with blue flowers?

Oh, they are beautiful Julia!! Green Grin! Sorry about the zone envy. What is it you are looking for, is it something blue or do you just like the clumping thing?

Thanks Bob.
I see it didn't make it in the bloggers zone 5 garden in the spring 2011 after all.I checked the website of HCG but they only have the hardy white. I actually was looking for the blue.Given the cost, I'd rather not take a chance that it would die out. I could pot it but first I want to
see if I can find a similar flower.

Yes, I'm looking for the same form, height, color and the look. Suggestions?

Julia this is a very nice clumping plant but I am not endorsing Park Seed. I use to have these at my other house and I loved them for a sunny spot.

If you want something blue that looks like a clump then try this I already bought one and I am so excited, it's beautiful too. Green Grin!

I clicked on the first link and it took me to a photo of Stella de Oro????

The second link looks good. Did you buy a gallon or I am assuming the other size is the 4" pots?

I have to edit this. I just noticed that Caryopteris clandonensis 'Dark Knight' is a shrub. Oh well, still looking.

I love that Lily of the Nile, I was going to suggest that but the one I googled said it was only hardy to zone 8, but park says 6? Confused

Julia, I wasn't sure if you were looking for something clumping or blue. The Stella de Oro is clumping and the Caryopteris is blue. Blinking

How about some Siberian Iris, good to zone 3

They sell various alliums potted here at garden centers. Green Grin! But, yes, more expensive.
