As a comment about Four o'Clocks (Mirabilis jalapa), SongofJoy wrote:

Quickly becoming one of my favorites. A great plant here in zone 7a. It requires little attention, thrives in the blazing sun and humidity, and isn't picky about soil. Also fairly drought tolerant. Although it can reseed profusely and can be considered invasive under some circumstances, to me it is worth the effort to pull out the extra plants.

Actually, I'm in zone 7a now so I'd better go in and change that comment. I do think the tubers may have survived this year because the weather has been so warm. Perhaps not all of them. Time will tell and I can't say for sure right now. But I definitely have lots of seeds to sow them again! Green Grin!
I garden for the pollinators.
