you can sell used books anywhere. What you canNOT do is copy a book and then sell that.

@tx_flower_child,
I think the classified and group buys is the correct forum for you to sell gardening books.
Just start a new thread and list what you have for sale.

Oh, good. will make a list later. Have friends coming over later and I have to clean the house. I warned them that they'll have to squint.

Also have some books that some would call 'touchy feely' books. Like 'Care of the Soul' and 'Anatomy of the Spirit'. Think I should list those at the end of the list of gardening books? I'm thinking they might help someone in difficult or stressful times. Ya never know. But I could leave those off.

I wouldn't know how to do a co-op or whatever for Atlas gloves. Wish I did.

Thanks, y'all, for the input.

Leslie,
I just purchased a set of Showa Atlas gloves from Amazon last week. It was a set of four different pairs, and I felt like the price was fair. I love these gloves! They were $13.50 for four pair and free shipping with prime.

If anyone is looking for good gardening gloves, these are the best ones that I've used... very durable Smiling

Hi Joan

Here are some threads where Sandy set up an "Atlas Glove Group Purchase" after determining that there was enough interest.

The thread "Interest Thread Atlas Gloves Co-op" in Classifieds and Group Buys forum

The thread "Atlas glove co-op starting line" in Classifieds and Group Buys forum

P.S. I would urge you to offer gardening and other books. There are no copyright issues unless you stole the books in the first place!

The only prohibition I know about re-selling books is that, if you are a book store and signed certain contracts with publishers, they would send you new paperback books but allow you to "return them as unsold" by just tearing off the front covers and mailing THOSE back to the publishers. The contracts specify that you may NOT sell or give away the rest of the book, that you must destroy the books to get the refund. It was not worth the money to ship them back to the publisher and return them to the warehouse.

@RickCorey - however did you guess my secret? I'm book thief! Well, my house looks like I might have been one at one time or another. Think I'm more of a book hoarder.
I do plan to list books, just have to figure out fair prices b/c there are itty bitty books, kinda little ones, much bigger, hardcover, softcover, something old, something new, nothing borrowed (!) and you get the idea.

I'll have to check out what Sandy has done but can't say that I'm ready to start an Atlas glove group or co-op. But thanks for the links.

Oh, and I'm not a bookstore either. That was my dream in life. Not to be a bookstore , but to have one. Then along came the internet.

It takes one to know one, Joan!

Every time I move, the movers' first words are always: "You have a LOT of books!" (My walls are lined with boxes of books - lots of old science fiction plus some of everything else.)

Unfortunately, all were stored in a very humid basement for two years, and are probably unsellable. But when I retire, I plan to spend a few years going through them, re-reading some and selling, dumping or giving away at least 3/4 of them.

@RickCorey and @lakesidecallas - I'm fresh out of sci fi unless you count Vonnegut, but those books have traveled far and wide with me and are staying put. But I do have some spy fi that I'm fixing to donate if either of y'all are interested.

@scflowers - I followed the link to the gloves on Amazon. They look pretty good. (Really like the 'periwinkle'.) Maybe I can find a seller here so I can try some on. Some of my gloves are size small and some are medium. I'll have to figure it out and then figure out group purchase and then and then and then . . .
Anyway, thanks for the tip!

They are awesome gloves Joan. They are thin enough that you can feel what you're doing but your hands do not get too hot. They wash well. Eventually they wear out but at the price they're a great value.

Joan, I'll see what I can find for glove-size-guessing. If I recall, during the group buy, we had two ways to figure out what size we were, and I thought they told me two DIFFERENT sizes. But the ones I eventually got fit great!

Well, I'm not finding anything in my notes.

Bingo! Sandy posted links to both guides.

Thanks @RickCorey. What's sad is that when I look at the sizes of my current gloves, assuming the size is still visible, I'll find gloves of same brand but different sizes. And they all fit.

Dang! Just saw an ad on here for a book that I planned to sell. And double dang! I wouldn't want to mess with a vendor aka a type of income for NGA. Oh, rats! Maybe I'll send @dave a tree mail.

That's not a problem at all and won't affect anything. Go ahead and list whatever you want to sell. Smiling

Thanks @dave. Whenever I get my list going, I had planned to price that particular book (in very good condition) for about one tenth of the advertised one. I'm glad it won't affect anything. I'm just getting to know y'all and don't want to step on any toes. Yet.
