Just so happy to see my spathiphyllum being revived! Yippeee!

This is how she looked like when first brought home on Feb 2011:


And after I returned from a long trip, so sad to see her badly dried out, my hubby thought it needed more sun, not understanding this one likes to be indoors, he brought the little one outdoors during summer when it is just triple digit hot outside:

Keeping fingers crossed, I did some frequent watering, luckily fall is coming in and saw some marked improvement:

During winter I brought her inside, and is still inside right now, getting just enough light and watered as needed. She continues to improve and is now much better

Good save!! Even though some people grow those here like they were weeds, I have found them fairly temperamental and I've lost a few. I don't buy them anymore because of that. However, I think I've spotted one coming back. It looked dead and I decided to use the pot for something else but I left the stub in the pot and just made room for the other plant. Now, it looks like it is making a comeback. We'll see if it stays alive.

Oh you are so right! When we were in Los Angeles area, I had one which grew easily like a weed...I guess the plant sulks big time pretending to be dead when she hates what is going on. When I saw still a hint of green I felt it still must be alive..I did not bother tinkling with her roots, and she did come back! Now let's see if she will give me some blooms

Spathiphyllums like a lot of water, some people grow them in shallow water. Shade, water, humidity and high temperatures won't worry them. Take away the water/humidity and they'll go down hill. I've got one of the larger ones in the garden in a shady spot. Grew well for years and then a fungus attacked it and it went down hill fast. Thought I'd lost it. There was only a bit of a stub and a few tiny leaves for a couple of years. But over the past year it's started to make a big come back. Still not as big as its former self but it seems to have developed a resistance and thrown off the fungus. Never thought a plant could do that. But I had the same thing happen with some Crinums too. With a bit of TLC yours should be back to their former glory in no time.

Thanks Zig I really have to caution my hubby a lot about which plants can stay outdoors or not, or which want he can drown Just happy this little one is back once more.

Yeah! I'm glad your plant survived. How much light is required for these plants? When is too much water too much water? I've been guessing about what to do for my new peace lily plant friend. Any guide lines are appreciated, many thanks. I hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend.

I give my plant indirect light similar to light needs of a Dracaena. I usually feel the soil before I attempt to water..if it is still damp, then no need to water. Glorious Easter to you as well!
