Please don't tell me the answer is Chrome Hilarious! I don't have this problem on any other site, just ATP.

Win7 Home, Cable modem, Firefox 10.0.2, Avast anti-virus and Comodo firewall.

I've rebooted my PC a couple times in the last couple days, and it hasn't made a difference. No other site takes as long to load new pages as ATP does. Using the "one one thousand two one thousand.." method of counting time, it took THIRTY-SIX SECONDS to open a new page that wasn't cached. Cached pages open in 3 seconds or less.

At first, I thought it was just database image pages, but it's new forum topics as well. If it's not cached, it takes so long to load that I think it's not doing anything.

it's never been like this in the past, and I swear it just started in the last 2 days or so.

Two questions -- is it running slow like this for anyone else? Any suggestions on what to do? I'll reboot the cable modem and router if I have to, but if it's only one site having issues, it's hard for me to think it's related to the cable modem or the router.

Tested lightbox pictures -- they pop up in 3 seconds or less. But this very thread, that I started and have already viewed once so it should be in my cache as a thread and not just as a new post, just took 36 seconds to load. I have a total of 6 tabs open, 2 of which are facebook related. Am going to close those 2 and see if it makes a difference. (cause FB may be a bigger resource hog than I realize). My task manager hasn't shown any excessive CPU or memory load, so I'm flummoxed.

Again, if it were across all the sites I visit, I'd understand. But for it to just be this one site confuses me.

I found the problem. One of our javascript files was being loaded by a CDN (an offsite network) and that CDN went down recently.

I moved the javascript file to the local server and everything should be back to normal for you now.

Oddly enough, another reboot solved it.

It still doesn't make sense to me that it was only one site running dog-slow... it was always "waiting for simplecdn.maxcdn.com" for 36 seconds each time. I guess it gets points for being consistent. Hilarious!

So it wasn't my reboot that fixed it. That makes WAY more sense to me.

Thanks! Hurray! Thumbs up

Yep, it was the "maxcdn.com" domain that was causing the slowness. I'm not using it anymore so this shouldn't happen again. Thanks for the report! Thumbs up

Not always, but in this case I was experiencing it myself, which meant I was able to figure it out pretty quick.

It's when others have a problem but I can't replicate it, then it's nearly impossible to find the problem. Glare
