When I got home today, I was dismayed to see one of my daffodils mowed down to the bulb. The fronds were lying right nearby with what looked like teethmarks..

Well, I found the culprit tonight. A big 'ol fat ugly caterpillar was munching down another daff. EW. Anything I can do to deter them????

Caterpillars generally eat the flowers and leaves. Their larvae severely damage the roots and storage organs. Regular spray and drenches with insecticides controls their population.

For caterpillars, apply either Bacillus thuringiensis or spinosad to the plants.

Turns out it was a cutworm. Yuck. I have some spinosad so I guess I'll be spraying this weekend.
