While walking in the back yard this morning, I saw this cut little yellow flower. It looks somewhat like the sundrops we have in AR, however, it is much smaller. Anyway, there were three of these little plants growing in close proximity -- I'm not too familiar with what grows in FL yet. It must be pretty hardy because it was growing where it only gets watered when it rains.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

That is such a cute little flower, I use to make necklaces out of these buttercups on the school yard.
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

Janet, do you think it is the second link? Helianthemum carolinianum, are they considered invasive?

Yes I do think it's Helianthemum carolinianum Susan, if not it's something very close to it. I haven't checked out if they are invasive, but if it is I would be tempted to keep it.
Thanks for the info. I think it is most likely the Helianthenum Carolinianum. I am amused when people say that a plant is invasive in Florida. Just about anything can become invasive here if not kept in check!

, These were everywhere when I was a young girl, nobody cared, we just thought it was normal. Hadn't thought about it much over the years, but just seeing that flower made me so happy!!

Susan, I was happy seeing it, too. When I was growing up, there was a lot of butterfly weed all around. Nobody thought much about it. Now people are buying it for their gardens. I imagine all flowers were once weeds until people started cultivating and growing them.

Are you familiar with God's letter to St. Francis? I promise, it's not really about religion, but rather about man's relationship to nature. It's garden humor. cute.
This is our fall routine: DH sucks up leaves on grass, sidewalks, etc, puts them in a large pile out back. I go out with my bucket, scoop up leaves and use them for mulch under the shrubs and around plants. We have never bagged leaves for disposal, nor bought mulch.

If my father saw people putting out bags of leaves or grass clippings as garbage he would ask them for it and bring it home. He knew what was good for the garden.
Um, we feed it to our goats. Who in turn run around the fields "fertilizing" them, as well as munching the weeds. I refer to goats as organic Weed 'n Feed.
