Joanne, what kind of petunias are you talking about? Tidal waves or smaller type petunias?

Regular Waves or Shockwaves. For a 16" pot, One Tidal Wave

That's amazing. I'm going to have to try the tidal waves someday. I've grown the regular waves and shock waves but never tidals.

Joannabanana, I've been looking at all of your petunias they are just beautiful! I might make one of those towers this year that's really cool! I've done the leaning pots but I like that idea better you can make it taller what size is the wood you have them in I have some 4X4's I'm going to put in the ground and nail some of those big wire baskets to them this year I just planted some petunias I'll have to look at what I have and see what you say about how many to plant in a container thanks for all the information on them really appreciate your input!

Here's a picture of the pot assembly. Wave petunias per pot from the top: 1, 2, 3 & 4 in the bottom. I also like to put bacopa in between the petunia plants.

The little boards are about 2" wide and 8" long. Since the pots are just thin plastic nursery pots, the plastic is a bit thin. If you used a stronger pot, you probably don't need the boards

So that's on the same idea of the tipsy pots thats the way I've planted mine before but just don't like the look and they are so hard to water that way. That is doable for me too great idea I love it! Thanks for the picture! Oh no you have something up your sleve with that! You have it braced against the fence lol I might not be able to do that I'll have to figure something out I know I have plenty of rebar I'll get get an extra long piece to use love that stuff!

that was in a bad spot for the planter. The ground is very uneven and I had to put a landscape tie so the neighbor's dog would quit digging under the fence. So I used buggy cord to secure to the fence. Other years, in a different location, It stood on it's own without a problem

My whole yard is uneven there isn't much space that has a flat piece of ground here lol I live on a hill with limestone and caves under me I have a sink hole right by my bedroom window that started a few years ago it's only about four feet around so far and not that deep yet just a dip in the ground but pretty sure that's what it is I have sink holes in the field too! Dad filled that hole a few years back with dirt and now it's back.

A lot of times my pots in the yard are lopsided Grumbling

I ordered more petunias yesterday some Sophistica Lime Bicolor just had to see what they looked like, I'm not finished ordering petunias yet need some more waves! Just haven't run across another a color that I like in them yet. Need to get on the ball! I'm going to plant some of them in the ground I don't have a lot of luck with them in pots I've been taking notes on your suggestions with pots I just kind of fake my way with petunias I need to pay more attention to them this year esp. when I see how beautiful yours are Smiling

Here's what I've planted so far:
Dreams Midnight
Valentine
Pink Wave
Shock Wave Denim

Great selection.

Grumbling I goofed. Thought I was extremely careful, but ended up with a little vile with 9 pelleted seeds, unmarked, so now no-name. I can't figure out which ones they are. I seeded 670+ petunia seeds over the last few days and somehow missed these. Stokes often puts more seeds than what the package says, so it is difficult to figure out. The Avalanche Grape petunias had 31 seeds in the package that was labeled 20 seeds. Guess I will have to wait for the blooms to tell.

I'd give anything to have a greenhouse! 670 petunias are a lot of petunias lol I do have five plantstands downstairs but not enough! I'm afraid I'm going to run out of space for this year! Planting a lot more in 3" pots for this year that will take a lot more space than the 6 packs.
