When we moved here five years ago, people gave housewarming gifts of garden hand tools.
Nippers,clippers,4 trowels, 3 claws,2 weeders. Thats what we ended up with when added to the ones we already had.
We have a moritorium on garden giftes now.

While we have several of each tool, I only have one that I use for each task.

I have two claws but only use one favorite, 3 trowels but use my favorite, we probably have 6 bull nose shovels but I only use one and once, when I broke the handle, Hank put a new handle on for me as I only like that particular shovel.

I've reached a point in my life where less is more Whistling

I agree I have too many tools, but find I only use a few of them after my back surgeries (around the time I turned 60). But no way I am giving them away! Hilarious!

i have a lot of tools, but then I do a lot of things. I am working on an old house, and clearing a neglected overgrown yard. I wouldn't say I have too many tools, even though most other people would. In fact it is a serious problem when wookmen come onto the property, they invariably take off with some of my tools. Or, use my tools and leave them in bad condition. I feel such a sense of loss. And it is so frustrating to look for a tool and find that someone had decided to mis-use it.

Recently, new neighbor kids got into my tool shed when I wasn't home.
I found a crow bar and my heavy duty loppers laying out in the yard.

I felt so violated! They even cut the padlocks off the tool shed. So now its time to put new locks, and try to replace the tools that are missing or damaged.

Yes. i often buy antique tools (both gardening and woodworking) at garage sales and flea markets.

Bill was really bad about tools. Why look for that "special" tool when you can go buy another Grumbling Now that he's gone I still have to go through 4 sheds 6 or 7 tool bags and boxes Blinking Blinking no clue what some stuff is and really is it necessary to have 5 of the same thing??? Glare Anyone close by wants to help feel free Big Grin
