Thanks again. I really have to laugh. I had never seen split corona daffs before I got mine and just bought it from the pictures at Brent and Beckies. But when it bloomed last year I didn't like it at all. Funny how tastes differ. CUM LAUDE is my least favorite daffodil in my entire garden.

Hi Rita, I love your daffs. They just shine with beauty.

I'm thinking about buying a few trumpet lillies and maybe some orienpets(sp?). For now, I'd like to get some nice bulbs but also very reasonably prices. Nothing really fancy but pretty.

I had some of the Astic, I think that were very common pink and white, Lollipop maybe. they had gotten beautiful. I had maybe 30 stems of blooms 2 years ago and then they were gone, all of them. I don't know if the voles got them or what. I just know they were beautiful. I think I got maybe 10 orginally at Home Depot in a bag about 10 years ago. It took along time for them to mass bloom like they did. I wouldn't mind having some more of them.

I always love yours and thought you might know of a good place to get some????

Thanks for any advise and please continue to post you lovely babies. Mona

Mona, are you on the Lily Forum here at ATP? It is anothyer one of the wonderful ATP forums.

I have gotten many of my less expensive lilies at k. van Bourgondien but they have a bad reputation and this year have filled for bankrupsy so best not to order there.

A good place is The LIly Garden-

Well, I have both my small 35 gallon ponds cleaned out and new water in. It is always a stinky mess. The fall leaves blow in all winter and start to decompse in the water and when they are dregged out in the spring they really smell. But I dump them both each year. First I bail out the water and leaves with a bucket. Then I pick them up and scrub them out and after that I put them back and fill with water. I put feeder fish in them that I buy el cheapo from the pet shop to take care of any mosquito problem. Can't get fish quite yet as that water was COLD! One is in ground with these paver blocks that it rests on so that it can be lifted and put back in ground. The other is one of these patio ponds which means it stands above ground. Not on my patio though but in the shrub border.

I haven't done anything about my big 350 gallon in ground pond as that has fish in it which overwintered from last summer. I don't want to mess with it yet as I figgure I will have to add some water after scooping bottom sediment and putting in the pond filter to clear the water. Will wait for warmer weather.

I have considered getting feeder goldfish for my pond. My pond is about half an acre. When the dam let go a few years ago, and I had a new one made, the water was so low and so muddy, I think all the fish died. Have not seen one for a long time. Frogs, turtles etc, but no fish. I have been thinking a few hundred feeder goldfish would help keep the weeds and mosquitos down, plus be colorful. Poor woman's Koi... Whistling

Rita, you should tree mail Trish and get set up to do one of the garden tour articles. She started a thread here on the daylily forum asking if anyone would want to do it.

Juli, you should deffinately stock the pond with some type of fish. Thumbs up

Trish already tree mailed me about doing one of the ATP garden Tours. I just don't have time now to do it, sorry. Maybe later.

Dot, it is my least favorite daffodil of all of the ones I own. And now I know and will not be buying more Split Coronas. But I do buy mixes so who knows, I might get split coronas mixed in. But I have it now and am much too lazy to did it up. I keep adding daffs here year after year and have never tossed any yet. Hilarious!

It is raining so I guess no work outside in the garden today. I have done a lot but it being a garden there is always something needs doing! Big Grin Green Grin!
