Looking forward to an article! Hurray! Clint, your planters turned out great!! I tip my hat to you. I'm going to have to try some, I've got a TON of those pebbles. Rolling my eyes. Rolling my eyes. I picked up quite a few bags when they were on sale at Michael's and then found even more at Dollar Tree! The variety (color and size) isn't as good but you can't beat the price - $1.00 !! Thumbs up

This is another rock planter I want to try, love the looks of this one!

There are instructions here and they don't look too difficult if you watch the video - just need to find the right rocks! Whistling http://www.marthastewart.com/2...

Hmmm, the directions seem easy... but I'm not sure. How about taking an existing (clay?) pot and just sticking the stones on the outside? That way you don't have to 'shape' the pot as well as trying to control sand, cement etc.

I think that is awesome. I want to make that one too. LOL. A friend offered to buy my first planter. I said NO. I can't get rid of it after all the searching and gluing I did!

I'm thinking about a new planter idea. I'm going to do one and I bet everyone here will like it!

Of course you can't turn loose of that first one! But maybe you could sell one to pay for more supplies! Smiling
Can't wait to see your new idea!

I've experienced the same problem, well almost. No one has actually offered to buy any of my creations but they keep telling me I should sell them! No way, after all the work I've put into them these are for ME! Hilarious!

I'm wondering if you used pieces of slate like what you used for your planter, the kind you can usually find at Home Depot, for the planter I posted? Seems like it would be easy enough to "break" them into smaller pieces? Shrug!

Looking forward to your "new planter idea". Hurray!

I think the slate would work. It's expensive though.

Really? It's been a couple of years since I bought a few pieces for paths in the garden and I thought that just one of the larger ones would be enough for one planter. I think they were less than $5.00 each, maybe even more like $3.50 each? Of course if I could find rocks along the stream banks they'd be free, even better. Smiling

Debbie: I love the looks of the one in your photo too ... and immediately thought about slate. What a great idea of gluing it to a terra cotta pot!

Clint: Look forward to photo's of your latest project!

I'm not very creative or crafty ( and I'm impatient as well), so I'd much rather purchase these already made than have to go through the mess of glue etc. and trying to make them myself. Green Grin!
