Is this iris the same color purple as Dusky Challenger? I have been wondering if there is a more modern iris equally large and of that perfect (IMO) purple

I would say Magnificent Masterpiece is a bit darker than Dusky Challenger, but they are pretty similar. In spite of the fact that Dusky Challenger is always at the top of the AIS popularity poll and Magnificent Masterpiece usually doesn't even make the list, Magnificent Masterpiece is the superior iris in my opinion.
