Bought this plant yesterday but no label. They couldn't remember the name at the nursery either. But they said it's a shade plant and grows reasonably large for a shrub. Hoping someone here might recognise it or have an idea as to its ID. Thanks.

Thanks Hetty and Jay, that certainly looks very much like it. The leaves are a bit different, but that could be varietal.

Now that's a turn up! Only 2 responses, from Dutchlady1 and Jay Nederland. How often would you get that coincidence? I tip my hat to you.

Oh - very interesting! Jay is IN Nederland Texas (not his last name)... but the odds are pretty slim against something like this.
Could I add that it's pretty darn nice to get a confirmed ID in two posts? Whistling

Well as you can probably guess Nederland was founded by Dutch settlers.

I knew that, of course, Jay. One of my plumeria contacts used to live there but she recently moved to North Texas.
