Do those work at night? Racoons and other critters come during the night. Of course birds visit during the day. But I never even thought of getting a woldlife cam. It just might be a good idea!

This is the most popular watering and bathing spot for my backyard birds. It is only a plant saucer placed on the ground.

The weight of the water keeps it in place. Honestly, there is a parade of birds going to it all day long.

tarev said:Totally agree with providing water for the wildlife I agree especially during those onerous dry days..just hope the birds and feline don't go there at the same time Big Grin And be adept in cleaning it out too as needed Smiling

My water fountain gets its thirsty visitor every now and then:
Dunno which neighbor owns this one, but it sure knows where she can get her drink:

Some birds drop by, either to drink, or maybe just wet their feet:

tarev, that was an amazing video! I have never seen a hummingbird drink water before! I love the fountain it was drinking from too. The one in the pictures above is really awesome!

Oh, the guilt! Yesterday morning, I put water in all 5 bowls at the wildlife area, with a little left in the bucket. We're pretty busy, in the middle of working on the master bedroom, trying to clean some and clear out stuff to give us more room before the desk we bought is delivered next week. I was so tired I didn't check on the wildlife area later in the day. This morning, all containers were bone dry. Darn, my fault! It's been really hot and dry again...although temps are supposed to be a little lower for a while now.

Linda, I'm sure you will be forgiven, just don't do it again, huh!... Hilarious!

How exciting to get a new desk, I just ordered one too, dh has been telling me for years that I need a new chair and desk, well I got the chair a couple of weeks ago and I saw a desk that would work in my office, it will give me a lot more space for my 'stuff'. Green Grin!

Gardening keeps me connected to the
I love this idea! I do it too but my wildlife are quite different to yours. Water in my garden ranges from the big dam through medium ponds to birdbaths and small dishes, and they all get used. The biggest 'pond' is actually a childrens plastic sandpit/paddling pool they used to use when little and now is used by me to keep potted waterplants in till I plant them in other ponds or bogs. It recently had a kangaroo hop in to have a bath! My smaller planted ponds suit the little birds better than the birdbaths, which the larger parrots and magpies prefer. The smaller containers get used by lizards, and the frogs are in all of them, including the water space under the waterwell (wicking) pots.

I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to have a kangaroo or parrot show up for a bath! Hilarious!
