And yours are beautiful!

I have poppies that do grow -sometimes - Some years they come up and go gangbusters, other years, I reckon they take a rest???

And mine are the exact same colors as yours on your bench. Green Grin!

I would LOVE to be able to grow the blue ones though Lovey dubby

Oh, and uh, I am a chocoholic Whistling

Beautiful bench Sharon!

Thanks, Vic.

I'm googling poppies. Surely I can figure out what I'm doing wrong and finally get some to grow here.
And I just had a chocolate covered wafer thingy.
I'd really prefer an entire bag of dark chocolate covered almonds, but there isn't one in this house and my daughter has my car somewhere over around Louisville tonight.
It will be a chocolate covered wafer thingy night.

I hope you get an answer for your poppies. They are so cool the way the way the stem is all bent over as if the bud is weighing it down and then poof, it blooms and turns its happy little face up Hurray!

I had grandchildren visiting this week-end so of course, grandma HAD to bake, right? Green Grin! So yesterday was chocolate chip cookies - today was brownies - I can't do that everyday but then I don't get to see my grandchildren everyday either so........ Whistling

Heh. I don't need an excuse.
And since my Ethan is totally the spitting image of me, as well as the same likes and dislikes, we sort of do the chocolate thing when we're together too.

Glad you had a good chocolate weekend.

If you'd like to start with just a single variety, I recommend the Breadseed Poppy, Papaver somniferum. They're beautiful, you'll get plenty of seed for them to self-sow from year to year, and it produces the same poppyseed that you buy at the store, so you'll have your own supply for baking, salads, etc.

The poppies you painted are really very pretty! Seriously pretty.

And poppies didn't grow for me either. I never tried again. Maybe this is the year.

I love reading your blog.... Lovey dubby

Hello Nap,

I kinda fell in love with those red poppies too; first time I ever tried painting them was with the blue one on the chair and I went with he photo/perfect thing with it. Then when I got to the bench yesterday I just squiggled my brush around and liked those looser poppies much better. I'm thinking that if I ever have time I'd like to paint some red ones on canvas using the squiggledy brush strokes. That was fast and fun and looked like poppies look when they are trembling in the breeze.

Thank you, Nap. It's nice to know you're there reading.
