So maybe this will help you. It's a simple process if you have a kiln. A regular oven doesn't get hot enough to melt the glass, it has to be done in a kiln where the heat will remain consistent and it will heat slowly. It also has to cool slowly, so it must be enclosed while firing and while cooling because of breakage.
Probably could be done with a torch and extra long arms and tongs and protective glasses on a hot day, but I wouldn't want to attempt it.
