Announcing a new raffle! This time it's for a beautiful and valuable book, donated by Horseshoe.

Last month, Horseshoe tree mailed me and said:

Horseshoe said:I have a fantastic collector's item book that anyone involved in the plant world would love to have. Called "Flora--The Gardener's Bible". It's huge, considered a suitcase book, and I see why. It is 12" high, 10 inches wide, THREE inches thick and weighs close to 15 pounds. The photos in it are outstanding, the entries contain over 20,000 plants, and the groupings are, well, read the following excerpt:
..................
This comprehensive, beautifully illustrated encyclopedia of plants contains information on over 20,000 plants from all around the world. Organized in an A to Z format by botanical name, the individual entries provide a detailed description of each plant and its features, notes on origin, cultivation requirements, growth habit, propagation and pests and diseases. The introduction explains how the 12 climatic zones work, and looks at the environment and the plants that grow in those zones. Lists of plants suitable for growing in specific areas, for example, alpine gardens and seaside gardens, are also given. In addition, the introduction provides ideas for garden design. Flora covers all the plants groups: trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials, bulbs, corms and tubers, cacti and succulents, lawns, ground covers, ornamental grasses, herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, other fruits, nut trees, palms and cycads, ferns, climbers and creepers, and orchids. Written by a team of international botanical and horticultural writers, this book will allow all gardeners to choose the perfect plants for their garden, and expand their knowledge on the wealth of plants available. The stunning color photography from all around the world is the perfect complement to the text.
.....................

The above description doesn't mention it also comes with a CD.

I wish you'd let me donate this to ATP as a contest gift. It is in brand new condition, not a mark on it, no dog-eared pages, no highlights/notes, the spine has no checks or wrinkles, and the CD has never been played. I rec'd it in its original plastic wrapping and it's been kept as rec'd, minus the plastic wrapping.

I just realized I never explained why I'm calling this a "Not a Raffle" raffle. Smiling

A raffle is where you buy tickets for a prize, using -money-. Since there is money involved in the buying of tickets, there are laws that govern raffles.

Well, we're not selling tickets for money. This is a "contest" using acorns and no money is changing hands, so it's not really a raffle. It's a "not a raffle raffle". Smiling

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others.
