Thanks for posting the photos of the traps. I have never seen this kind. Does it kill the vole/mouse or do you have to be his executioner? I will be hunting for some. Thanks again.

It kills them, have never seen a live one in it, because they open the bait box with their nose and the bar, which has a strong spring comes down on their head, grizzly, but that's the way it is.

Wow, thanks Margaret for the photos. I think we can rig the traps we have
with an attractant, and see what happens. Will also be persistent with the
mouse bait.

Thanks all for this discussion. I need all the input I can get. Have been
at war with these things for a long time, and they keep winning. We
have so much of their favorite food, earthworms and grubs.

Have been out most of the day with guys working on the house.
Ya know I have to supervise. LOL.

Shirlee, you may want to investigate Milky Spore that will get rid of the grubs that the moles feed on. Don't think that will help with the voles, though!

Have you tried that Ann? I have seen it for sell, and wondered if it really works.

I have tried it and think it works. Problem is that is fairly expensive, so I just treated the flower beds. Once in the soil it works for years.

Good to know. Many thanks. Elimination of at least one
food source would definitely help.

I usually get mice in my garage (not attached to the house) but I just put poison bait bars in there for them. No birds or other annimals can get in the garage, just mice or rats.
