Plants Admin

Thanks for this information, Joanne. All of the work that's done by hand is an eye-opener. I'll never complain about the prices of plants again.

Thanks Ladies. I love going to work everyday, except for the actual "work" part. I'm in front of a computer most of the day, but always go for a walk around to check things out. We have 8 acres under greenhouse roof and it is the most spectacular site just before the season takes off and everything is ready to ship. I do enjoy buying all the seeds, cuttings and plugs. It's like home gardening mail order on steroids...

I really enjoyed this article. I have just finished reading 'Flower Confidential' which talks about the cut flower business; I recommend this book. It is indeed eye opening to see what goes on behind the scenes before we get our bouquet of roses (or basket of petunias) at a Big Box store.
Thanks for posting. Thumbs up

I had never seen photos of the growers business. I worked for a guy who bought geraniums and raised them for a local garden center. He told me about where plants were raised for the trade.
Very impressive to see millions like that.
