STARTED WITH A KISS
I realized as I was completing this exercise how many of these irises have been hybridized by Barry Blyth of Australia -- amazing! So come on folks -- please show us your beautiful bicolors and bitones!
Aruba, what beautiful irises! You'll probably notice that I almost never have clump shots, unless they were taken at Schreiner's, Keith Keppel's or Mid-America because I'm not the best iris grower and never seem to have clumps. But I really enjoy seeing yours!
And Lucy, I love ISABELLA ANNA. I really love he MTB's with the stripes, and those colors are wonderful! Is that one that John created? Or is it yours?
No, I just keep buying rhizomes for the ones I really like, just to keep them going each year. I do have a few clumps -- BREAKERS has been happy here -- but mostly they just start fading away, and then if I really like it I'll purchase another rhizome here or there to keep it going, until I finally decide it's time. But if I'm ho-hum about one, you can bet its days are numbered and the neighbors start strolling over to let me know which ones they would like...
Gosh, You all have many of the same ones I love best. But I have lots of these, I'll try not to post all of them, lol it would take all day. Here's a few.
Tom, when you get more time....... I use these threads for my wish lists, and I added a couple of yours. I realize people have jobs, and families, but c'mon, set your priorities. LOL
Betty, funny, but Breakers is one of the few I haven't had luck with. I love to see your close up pictures, so no problem not having clumps. You have some lucky neighbors!
Polly she was on Vacation LOL but she is back thanks for the kind words.
Betty I Love your pictures and I think you have know problems growing Iris they all look beautiful and healthy your pictures have cost me a lot of money this past year I started trying to do more clumps after going to Salem I Loved how Schreiners had there gardens layed out there with 30 bulb clumps through out all there show beds it really caught my eye just wish I had a unlimited supply and more room like them to play I can really appreciate the newer Blyth ones you have they are really unique that first one Adoree has a beautiful color and Glamazon is really good looking as well after looking at all your pictures I keep adding more to my list of wants the only problem is figuring out how to afford them all.
Tom your pics are great as well I bought Glamour Pants and Hold My Hand last year it is good to see them growing in the midwest and I think both of your pictures of them are better than the ones I have seen so far keep them coming.
Betty, I got Crooked Little Smile from Iris4U, it's a Bob Van Liere. He should be up and running soon. It's a really vigerous grower, and looks good in a clump too. I'd bet it will do well for you too. (Or, I should have some to share this later this summer)
Polly, I have expanded my wish list a lot from these threads too. I will try to get some time later today to add a few more pictures, I've been taking advantage of this nice weather to clean out the beds.
Aruba, you'll love Glamar Pants, it's color is just that electric. Really a brilliant one.
Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed often, and for the same reason.
