Juli, thanks for the invitation to show our gardens. First I will show photos taken a couple of years ago to show the general layout of my backyard gardens, then I will add individual photos of plants as they bloom.

This photo is looking down our driveway towards the back yard. The cherry trees are in full bloom here.

I told you (somewhere) that Ann had gorgeous gardens. If only I lived close enough to visit. Drooling Her patio with the fish pond is just awesome.

Oh well we are working out some trades. Love free stuff.

Ann, thanks for showing us your beautiful gardens. They have
the appearance and feeling of strolling through a park.
The shrubs help create the effect. Lovely.

Is that Crape Myrtle blooming near the mixed border?

Also, is that a Peegee hydrangea?

Really like the design of the pond, and the sitting area.

Thanks, Michelle, Bobbie, and Dot. Michelle, the trees in the first photo are Yoshino cherry trees. Because of a lot of vision loss, I can't drive and run around, so I spend my energy digging in the dirt.

Shirlee, yes that is a crape myrtle at the back of the mixed border. There are three in the back of that bed. The mixed border is about 95' long and averages 18' deep. The hydrangea is Annabelle, just had to grow them because of my name. LOL The circular bed is 36' in diameter. What was I thinking when I designed and planted all those beds????

Ann, it looks like your Annabelle is growing in full sun. Is that right?
I have one too, and thought it needed shade. If full sun is okay, boy
do I know where to put it.

Oh yes, lots of lovely lawn.

Saying that with envy. We try, but the usually dry summers kill out
the grass. Lots of start overs here.

Ann I love your gardens. The Koi Pond would be so nice in the summer to sit with a nice glass of Ice Tea and watch the Koi play.

Oh, Ann, your gardens are beautiful! I LOVE the koi! What fun it must be watching them swim and feeding them. We once had one that would eat out of our hands. The foxes got it, we think. Thanks for sharing.

Ann, may I ask you a daylily question please??? I purchased Get Jiggy from you about 3 years ago. It's eyezone really has never gotten as nice as some pictures of it that I have seen on other websites. I sold some seeds from it on LA and got accused by a prospective buyer of not having the right plant. I know I have the right plant because I got it from you and it does have some of the banding in the eyezone, just not a lot. My question is, Doesn't soil differences and temperature differences have a lot to do with the appearance of Get Jiggy's eyezone??? I personally believe it does and that maybe with each passing year and the plant getting more established, that Get Jiggy will only get better looking.

Cindy the environment makes a world of difference in a plant,. It may look one way in my garden and different in my neighbors and across country another way. Not all will do this but some do. It is weather, soil, sun, water fertilizers etc. that can make a huge difference.

I am sure that is the reason Stephanie. I have seen a lot of the same flowers I have that Joy has and hers look different than mine because of 2 different climates.
