Sorry if this subject is covered somewhere else, I did a search and didn't find it.

In the last couple of weeks I have discovered Pinterest and have been creating boards of my own. I'm beginning to see some ATP friends there.

I'm guessing/hoping it is a to Dave if you follow or repin All Things Plants on Pinterest as it introduces All Things Plants to all your followers.

Was thrilled to share the All Things Plants website with Pinterest members and hope they get as much joy from the content and members as I do.

I'm just guessing but if I see a pic on ATP in forums or the database that has the copyright on it, then we should not share/Pin/Repin that content with Pinterest.

Dave is there anything we should know about pinning from your website on to Pinterest?

I've been working (with Sharon) on setting up an ATP pinterest account, so I hope you follow us there as well!

As for pinning ATP content, yes- of course we want you to do that
The wonderful thing about Pinterest is that the original copyright remains with the owner, and the pins link back to the original content. The exception to this might be in the database where the copyright is with a third party. We have permission from dozens of companies for the use of their photos on ATP, and that's where pinterest's waters get rather murky. Still, the copyright does remain with them, although we don't know that they want their pictures shared.

So, with that said, pin and share away!

I was all over your boards tonight chasing that painted furniture. Loved it.

I found a local dealer for that particular paint I have been pinning and a few pieces I am ready to try it on. Soon.

What's been really interesting and fun on Pin-it yesterday and today is watching the numbers increase for ATP there.
It's hopping! Amazing how quickly people start repinning.

One tip I found, for the ATP database images, I enlarge the photo I want first, then when I pin it, I make sure I select that larger image. I like seeing the larger images on Pinterest. I also discovered though that just clicking on the image itself on Pin, brings you to the entire entry here for that plant.

Yep, true.
I haven't been enlarging first because of the latter, plus the fact that I was trying to get several pins on the Bloom board to get us started. That done, I can slow down a little and see what works best.

I did notice from my own boards that a lot are attracted first to the photography, at least that's what grabs them. We have a lot of good photography in our database, that's for sure.

Oh I have! I even found one of my satellite pergola taken from my Flickr account.

Happens when you Google images.
I googled brick arches recently and there was a photo of the front of my home. I'd used it in a Cubit article some time ago.
It shocked me because I was thinking more in terms of a small garden structure.

Well, if we are active on the internet, posting pictures and all, I guess it's to be expected!
